Inspired in Seville

We were approached by a client to develop a concept for a garden pergola inspired by Las Setas de Seville in Spain.

We have been working with parametric modelling and cutting algorithms to create a pergola design that can be cut from sheet materials using a CNC routing machine. The pieces can be slotted together following the instructions (inspired by IKEA). The final assembled structure mimics the organic forms found in nature, The open waffle pattern creates light patterns reminiscent of the dappled light beneath a tree canopy, the use of timber reduces carbon and enhances the user experience offering warm, calming environment to relax in.

Below are some images of our scaled prototype model developed as proof of concept.
